30 Lessons Learned from Posting 30 Days Straight
I recently put myself up to the challenge of writing and posting on Medium every single day, for 30 consecutive days. Here are a few of the lessons I learned along the way.
1. It’s Gets Harder Before it Gets Easier
And you’re gonna suck before you get better. I did. I still do. Whatever, it’s all feedback, not failure.
2. It’s Not Really That Difficult to Write Everyday
Just sit down and write, even if you’re spewing garbage.
3. Actually, It Will Get More Difficult
Somedays, you’re just gonna stare at your screen and question your existence, ask yourself what you should snack on next, and debate with yourself whether or not you have gone mad for constantly being in your head so much.
4. When You Write, Write
Distractions away. Internet is off. Phone goes night-night. Ear plugs if required. You are a writer, right? Then write.
5. You Gotta Launch Before It’s “Perfect”
You are going to be so annoyed with how some of your pieces turned out. If you did your absolute best, then that’s great. You’re an artist. And most likely nobody else noticed the faults only you can see.
