5 Ways to Measure the Success of Your Wellness Program
“Our goals should serve as markers, measurements of the progress we make in pursuit of something greater than ourselves.” — Simon Sinek
One of the most common complaints with workplace wellness programs is the fact that it’s challenging to quantify a specific return on investment. When there is a lack of clarity on our expected outcomes and objective key results, we might feel as if we are swimming upstream. We spend more time, energy, and money, all in helping to support our team’s health without much to show for it in the end. There can be many reasons for this. Off the top of my head:
- a lack of agreement on performance indicators
- no shared sense of purpose
- programs launched that don’t get to the heart of the root problem
- or a haphazard approach is followed and we throw many different programs at the wall and see what sticks.
But one thing is for certain: If we can head into a new program launch or company-wide wellness initiative with a clear understanding of what to expect, we can then make better decisions in the future. We are afforded valuable information on what best serves our team.
